Hi! I’m Brigid, a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in mood disorders, eating disorders and relationship issues. I utilize an emotionally-focused approach to gain a better understanding of past hurts or fears about the future that cause us to be stuck. We've all adopted survival strategies that at some point stop serving us. We can learn more about ourselves from our experiences so that we can move more richly through life. My goal is to provide you with a welcoming, non-judgmental, and freeing space in which you can journey towards a deeper connection with yourself, your values, and your strengths.
My goal is to be a lifelong learner and walk beside you as you learn about yourself through your story and patterns. Newfound knowledge can empower us to facilitate change. Through openness, curiosity, acceptance and living your values, you can create healing in your life. My hope for the work we can do together is that it can support you to feel more freedom, connection, and peace for you to be more authentically yourself. I take a dialectical and trauma-informed approach to her work, working to find harmony between all parts of the client and their experiences. My work with eating disorders, particularly binge eating disorder, explores the expectations and rules that lead to shame and pain that everyone deserves to feel freedom from.
I’ve always loved learning about people. Coming from a big family I’ve always loved all the dynamics, and how you never stop learning about a person–even yourself. All of our strengths can work together to something greater in our community and relationships. I love people, I love stories, and I love everything that allows us to feel those stories more deeply and share our human experiences to understand we’re not alone. Music has always been that outlet for me and I love to play instruments on my own, with friends and family, and go to all kinds of concerts around town. I’m also an at-home barista who’s passionate about single origin roasts and my life goal is to always laugh at myself and never stop learning.
