Hi, I’m Jihaan—most people call me Gigi.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who identifies as an Indo-African, first-generation woman. My work is rooted in cultural responsiveness, body trust, and radical compassion—supporting BIPOC individuals in healing their relationship with food, body, and identity. I specialize in eating disorders, body image, and trauma, helping clients challenge the societal and cultural expectations that shape their sense of self-worth. In session, I bring curiosity, humor, and presence, blending evidence-based practices with warmth and authenticity to create a space where you can feel seen, grounded, and free to grow.
Healing happens when we’re given permission to show up as our full, authentic selves—messy, uncertain, and real. My sessions are a space to take off the masks, explore the “in-between” of cultures and identities, and reconnect with the light that’s always been there. Many of my clients navigate bicultural confidence, body acceptance, eating disorders, perfectionism, and cultural, racial, intergenerational, and identity-based trauma. In our work together, I use culturally responsive and identity-affirming approaches to walk beside you as you heal your relationship with your body, culture, and sense of self. Therapy here isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering what’s always been whole.
When Gigi isn’t in session, she’s often somewhere between chasing sunsets and chasing peace. An island girl at heart, she feels most at home surrounded by nature—whether she’s hiking a new trail, tending to her growing family of plants, or soaking in the stillness of a beautiful view. She’s a lover of spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen with her cat. Gigi loves exploring new cities, experimenting with recipes from different cultures, and laughing (often at her own jokes). Yoga, travel, and community activism keep her grounded, while her love for connection and curiosity infuses everything she does. She believes in living life with the same joy, authenticity, and passion she encourages in her clients.
