Hi, I’m Katie Bowler, LCSW, PMH-C. I primarily work with teens & adults with harmful coping behaviors, personality disorders/BPD, self-harm, substance use, mood disorders, anxiety and trauma. I also have a subspecialty in perinatal mental health including during postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, pregnancy, loss and PPD in spouses.
I wholeheartedly believe that everyone should be authentically themselves and have their own journey in finding out what that means. I am a strong ally for the LGBTQ+ community and welcome all diversity. I’ve found that DBT skills have genuinely improved my ‘life worth living’ and am genuinely passionate about sharing them with others.
I’m a Jersey girl who loves NY Giants football, Devils Hockey and everything Rutgers. My current hobby is finding fun coffee spots with funky latte flavors. My current favorite flavor is pistachio. I love meeting other moms, sending memes about motherhood to my friends and having a community in parenthood.
I received my Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University in 2013 and am independently licensed in NJ, VA, MD, NC & DC. I also provide clinical supervision for pre-licensed clinicians in those states. I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International. I have specialized in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for almost ten years and have taught DBT in individual therapy and group therapy with teens, adults, college students, incarcerated men and postpartum/pregnancy groups. I am truly passionate about helping my clients learn to find balance, manage emotions & stress and build their ‘life worth living’.
